LAHORE
The Mardan EDO (Health) has said Punjab chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif played a significant role in the rehabilitation and provision of medical facilities to the IDPs of Swat, and they would not have been able to cope with such a big challenge, had the people of Punjab not provided assistance to the people of the NWFP.
According to a handout, the EDO said this while receiving the ambulances donated by the Punjab chief minister for the people of the NWFP in a ceremony here on Tuesday.
The Punjab health director general, Dr Muhammad Aslam Chaudhry, handed over the ambulances to Mardan Health EDO Dr. Arshad Khan. Senior officials of the health department were also present.
Dr. Arshad Khan said the people of the NWFP, to acknowledge the services extended by the Punjab chief minister to the people of the province, would call him ‘Shahbaz Sharif Khan’. Thanking the CM on behalf of the people and the government of the NWFP, the EDO said the people would always remember him for his help in the hour of distress.
