 CM’s speech competitions

LAHORE

In the second phase of Chief Minister’s Speech & Essay Writing Competitions 2009, Urdu Speech Competitions of secondary level started at tehsil level throughout the province on Monday.

According to a DGPR handout, a total number of 3,056 students took part in the competition, out of which 1,501 were female students and 1,555 male students. As many as 355 students from Lahore division, 388 from Gujranwala, 395 from Faisalabad, 489 from Multan, 347 from Sargodha, 489 from Rawalpindi, 267 from D.G. Khan and 326 from Bahawalpur divisions participated in the competitions.

According to the results of speech competitions at secondary level of district Lahore, in tehsil Cantt, among the female students, Fiza Rehman of Dar-e-Arqam School Garden, Shabahat Qamar of Queen Merry Girls School and Saira Shaheen of Govt Girls High School Walton Road obtained first, second and third positions respectively. Similarly, among the male students, Syed Agha Karim Ali of Govt Central Model School Samanabad, Abid Ali of Govt High School Gulberg and Muhammad Hammad of Society Public School Mughalpura stood first, second and third respectively. In tehsil city, among the female students, Atika Wajid of Govt High School Awan Town, Mehr-un-Nisa of Govt Girls High School Shahdarah and Hadia Abid of Lady McLegon Girls High School Purani Anarkali, obtained first, second and third positions respectively while among male students Taha Munir of Punjab School Township, Bilal Amjad of Govt MPE High School Shahdarah and Hafiz Abdul Wahid of CDG Boys High School Sanda took first, second and third positions respectively.
