antagonism against ‘unarmed citizens’

Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Syed Munawar Hassan has criticised the armed forces over its antagonism against unarmed citizens in Waziristan and other parts of the country, urging the government to hold dialogue with those they had assume were terrorists.
Addressing an Ulema convention titled ‘Responsibility of Ulemas and challenges faced by Pakistan’ on Saturday at Idara-e-Noor-e-Haq, Hassan alleged that India was responsible for the existing chaos in Balochistan, and said that despite the evidence of Indian interference in Waziristan, the government in NWFP was not taking action, allegedly due to the fear of the United States. He said that due to the wrong policies of Pakistani rulers, anti-Pakistan and pro-India forces had risen to power in Afghanistan.
Hassan said that if Sufi Mohammed had broken any agreement, Musharraf had also twice trampled over the constitution of Pakistan. Yet, President Asif Ali Zardari had turned him into an intellectual. He said that statements of Altaf Hussain and Punjab Governor regarding blasphemy laws cannot be ignored, as Qadianis had been declared as non-Muslims in the national assembly.
The JI chief also announced that a three-day protest rally will be staged against Indian presence in war-torn areas of Pakistan from December 14.
