 Save Peshawar
Friday, November 20, 2009
For the last two months Peshawar is facing the worst terror incidents of its history. It is highly deplorable to note that at a time when Peshawar is burning there are people in other parts of the country who remain unmoved by the devastation being let loose almost daily on this city which was once called the ‘city of flowers’. Particularly condemnable is the silence of ‘civil society’ which mainly resides in Islamabad, Punjab and Sindh.

If Peshawar keeps facing this mayhem, other parts of our motherland will not have a different fate. Serious efforts should be made to save Peshawar if the rest of the country is to be secured.

In view of the massive suicide bombings and other terror incidents in Peshawar, I suggest that the government should declare Peshawar and Baghdad twin cites.
