Share this story!     Prime minister confers award on The News staffer Friday, November 20, 2009 News Desk Karachi Jan Khaskheli, environmental reporter of The News International, was awarded second prize by Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani in the feature writer category. At an award-distribution ceremony held at the PM House on Thursday in Islamabad, Khaskheli was given a shield, certificate and a cash prize in recognition of a story on marine pollution and its relation with the livelihoods of fisherfolk in Sindh. The event was organised by the Federal Ministry of Environment in collaboration with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (Unesco). The occasion was part of the activities held under the National Year of Environment.
