PESHAWAR: A division bench of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Wednesday put the Bajaur Scouts commandant, Bajaur Agency political agent and SSPs of Peshawar and Nowshera on notice in a habeas corpus petition.
Taking up the petition filed by Gul Qazi, an internally displaced person (IDP) of the Bajaur Agency currently staying in Nowshera district, the Peshawar High Court bench
directed the respondents to explain their position in the case.
Qazi said that Nowshera police picked up his son Sartaj from Nowshera six months back and handed him over to intelligence agencies.
The petitioner alleged that later the intelligence agencies handed over his son to Bajaur Agency political agent who linked Sartaj’s release with the surrender of his brother to security forces.
The petitioner said that some three years ago, one of his sons joined the militants in the agency against security forces but the whole family
members severed relations with him.
