| PU awards three PhD degrees |

LAHORE
THE Punjab University (PU) has awarded PhD degrees to three students in subjects of Botany, Chemistry and Zoology.
According to a press statement, Neelma Munir, daughter of Munir Ahmad, has been awarded a PhD degree in Botany after approval of her research thesis “Biochemical Characterisation of In Vitro Salt Tolerant Cell Lines and Regenerated plants of Sugarcane (Saccharum Spp. Hybrid).” She completed her thesis under the supervision of PU Department of Botany Assistant Professor Dr Faheem Aftab.
Syed Ali Raza Naqvi, son of Dewan Ali, has been awarded a PhD degree in Chemistry after approval of his research thesis “Radiolabelled Compounds for Diagnostic and Therapeutic Radiopharmaceuticals.”
His supervisor was PU Institute of Chemistry Director Prof Dr Saeed Ahmad Nagra. His co-supervisor was Pakistan Institute of Nuclear Sciences and Technology Chief Scientist Dr Malik M Ashfaq.
Tayybah Shaheen, daughter of Ch Mouj ud Din, has been awarded a PhD degree in Zoology after approval of her research thesis “Studies on chromium toxicity in cyprinus carpio brood stock-progeny relationship.” She completed her thesis under the supervision of PU Department of Zoology Professor Dr Tanveer Akhtar.
