 B division league kicks off today

KARACHI: The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) League (B Division) will explode into action today (Wednesday) with matches to be held in both club and departmental phase at different venues of the country.

Today (Wednesday), in the departmental leg, Higher Education Commission (HEC) will meet Police at the Punjab University Ground in Lahore while in the club leg three matches will be held. Munir Shaheed FC will lock horns with Baloch FC in Hyderabad while Young Club will take on Afghan FC at the Punjab University Ground in Lahore. In the same way, Karachi Kickers will meet Ravi FC at the PTCL Ground in Islamabad.

In the departmental leg, seven teams have been adjusted in two different groups. In Group A Pakistan Steel, Sui Southern Gas Corporation (SSGC), Sindh Government Press (SGP) and Pak PWD have been placed while Group B carries Police, PTV and Higher Education Commission (HEC). Quaid-e-Azam Sports Complex, Steel Township, Karachi and Punjab University Ground will host these matches.

Similarly, the club phase carries ten teams which have been put in three groups. In Group A Kasur’s Munir Shaheed FC, Hyderabad’s Qureshi FC and Quetta’s Baloch FC have been placed while Group B contains Dera Ismail Khan’s Dera XI, Sahiwal’s Young Blood, Quetta’s Afghan FC and Lahore’s City FC. Similarly, Karachi Kickers, Islamabad’s Ravi FC and Abbottabad’s Hazara Zamindar FC will play each other in Group C.

The winners of both the legs will replace the two relegated teams of the Pakistan Premier Football League in the prime event next year.
