 Bail petition in Marriott attack case rejected

Rawalpindi: 1An anti-terrorist court here on Tuesday rejected the bail application in a case relating to suicide attack on Marriott, Islamabad.

The court rejected the bail petition of Rana Muhammad Ilyas and Dr.Usman. Secretariat Police Station registered a case against the accused for their alleged role in suicide attack on Marriott in September 2008.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Mahrukh Tarar acquitted an accused involved in narcotics case. The court acquitted the accused because police could not prove crime against him. Civil Lines Police Station registered a case under Section 9-C against Shireen Khan on October 7, 2008.

An anti-terrorist court remanded an accused in a kidnapping case to police custody for three days. Civil Lines Police Station registered a case against Raza Shah, who allegedly kidnapped Jamil Ahmed on October 22, 2009.
