LAHORE

PAKISTAN Muslim League-Quaid central leader Chaudhry Pervez Elahi has said that the findings of the Competition Commission have proved that the Punjab government and Mian Shahbaz Sharif are behind the sugar crisis.

According to a press statement issued on Sunday, he stated this while addressing a moot of the party members along with Basharat Raja.

Pervaiz Elahi said that people of the province were suffering from the sugar crisis and inflation but the Punjab government had no solution to their problems as it was too busy abusing the Opposition in the provincial assembly.

He said the recent character assassination campaign against the Opposition leaders by the PML-N was an effort to divert the attention of people from its inability to solve the public issues. He said the PML-N government had failed prove their claims of good governance and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif was unable to implement the court orders regarding the sugar price.

The PML-Q leader said that on one hand, sugar millers were selling sugar at the price of their choice while at the other, sugarcane farmers were raising hue and cry. He said the farmers looking to sow rice were also suffering miserably as they were not getting the due price for their crop.

He said the agricultural community was tired of the failed policies of the chief minister and his government and had sworn not to vote for the PML-N in any upcoming elections.

Sanaullah’s allegations baseless: Opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly, Chaudhry Zahiruddin, has said that Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah is allegation against the PML-Q leadership were baseless whereas the truth is that the PML-N leadership is a product of martial law.

According to a press statement issued on Sunday, he said that the PML-N leadership has grown with the support of agencies and by buying nominations through bribes.

He said that people like Rana Sanaullah were the reason for Jeddah Operation and were now through their ‘indecent’ loyalty were trying to secure an important place in the already crumbling castle of PML-N.

He sad the Law Minister should present the record how much tax did the owners of 22 acres of Jati Umra paid.

He said that Rana Sanaullah was helplessly forced to resort to abusive allegations in the Punjab Assembly as the PML-N Punjab government had no accomplishments on their credit to mention in the assembly.

He said the PML-Q had never resorted to or initiated commotion in the Assembly but always had been forced to respond to such immoral and indecent acts of PML-N.
