 Road crash kills six in Shikarpur

KHAIRPUR: Six people, including two students, were killed and six injured in a road accident in a Shikarpur district village.

Police sources said a speeding coach, on its way to Quetta from Jacobabad, crashed into a van carrying students in village Sikandar Shar in the limits of Shikarpur.

The van was packed with students and other citizens. The citizens of Shikarpur the coach on fire and staged a demonstration on the Indus Highway against the death of six people. Shikarpur Police rushed to get the road cleared, but angry citizens threw stones at the police.

Schools of Shikarpur remained closed to mourn the death of the students.

The dead were identified as students of Class VI Asghar Shar and Muhammad Saleem, citizens Aamir, Ghulam Hyder, Yousuf, and van driver Muhammad Siddiq. The dead and injured were taken to a Shikarpur hospital.
