 Accused plea for copy of charges accepted

The Anti-Terrorist Court (ATC), Rawalpindi, on Saturday accepted application of accused allegedly involved in Mumbai attack case in which they requested provision of copies of the charges framed against them including Ajmal Qasab.

The accused through their counsel filed an application in the ATC that Special Investigation Cell (SIC) involved them in Mumbai attack case and also charged Ajmal Qasab. They requested the court to provide all copies of charges, which the court accepted. The court adjourned further hearing of the case till November 14.

Meanwhile, the ATC would start hearing on the bail application of accused allegedly involved in Marriott Hotel suicide attack on November 10. Secretariat Police Station had registered a case against Rana Muhammad Ilyas and others for their alleged involvement in suicide attack at Marriott Hotel in September 2008.

The ATC also adjourned hearing of accused allegedly involved in Maulana Azam Tariq murder case till November 21. Attock police had registered a case under Sections 302, 324 and 7 ATA against Mudasir Ali for his alleged involvement in the case in 2004. The court also adjourned hearing of accused allegedly involved in suicide attack on a bus of government department till December 12.
