Injured Fazlullah surrounded by forces: Bashir

PESHAWAR: Senior NWFP Minister Bashir Ahmed Bilour has disclosed that the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Swat chapter chief Maulana Fazlullah was critically injured and has been surrounded by the security forces.

Talking to a private TV channel, Bashir Bilour said the top leadership of the TTP Swat has either been arrested or killed and situation in 80 per cent area of the valley is under control.He said the TTP Swat spokesman Muslim Khan and commander Mehmud are also in the custody of security forces, adding that the local terrorists were carrying out terrorist activities in the country with the help of foreign resources.

Responding to a question regarding release of former Commissioner Malakand Muhammad Javed, the senior provincial minister said that he was arrested for his alleged cooperation with Taliban but released after allegations levelled against him could not be proved.
