Bureau report
PESHAWAR: Unidentified miscreants set on fire an oil tanker, carrying fuel supplies to Afghanistan, on Ring Road near Kohat Road early Tuesday. Police denied any rocket attack on the vehicle.
It was learnt that an oil tanker carrying fuel first to Khyber Agency and then to Afghanistan was reportedly attacked by unidentified miscreants on Ring Road near Kohat Road. The attackers torched the vehicle and fled away.
A source in police told The News that in past several such incidents occurred only to mint money because the vehicles were insured. The source added that normally no loss is suffered to the oil being carried, worth millions of rupees, but the drivers in connivance with the police show the loss to make money.
