An administrative judge (AJ) of the anti-terrorism courts (ATC) sent two suspected activists of the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) to jail on Monday and directed the investigation officer (IO) to submit a charge-sheet against them.
Akhtar Zaman and Saimullah, who were arrested from Sohrab Goth, were booked for allegedly planning to destroy oil installations in Keamari. The police said that the suspects disclosed during investigations that they, on the directives of TTP leaders Hakeemullah and Waliur Rehman, had planned to destroy oil installations in Keamari on September 14.
The police said that the suspects, along with other absconding co-accused Yameen Shah, Syed Noor and Naseebullah, shot at security guards at the terminal; one guard, Mir Ahmed Khan, was killed, while another guard, Khan Abad, was injured.
After the expiry of the remand, AJ Justice Maqbool Baqar sent the suspects to jail and directed the IO to submit the charge-sheet against them at the next date of hearing.
