MINGORA: Bodies of three suspected militants were found in Madyan on Sunday while security forces claimed to have arrested 11 suspects from different areas of Swat valley.

Villagers said that the bodies of the three suspected militants were dumped on a roadside in Madyan, a picturesque town in the north of the valley. They were identified as Matlab, Noorul Baqi and Ghazi Khan.

The Taliban militants loyal to Maulana Fazlullah were routed in the military operation Rah-e-Rast. The security forces had claimed to have killed hundreds of militants and arrested a couple of key commanders. The remaining Swat Taliban leaders and fighters have gone underground to avoid death or arrest.

Though the major part of the massive military offensive has been completed, the security forces continue hunt for the militants across the valley. Reports about killing of suspected militants by unidentified persons and dumping of their bodies have been emanating from the troubled Swat valley.

The Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) claimed on Sunday the security forces arrested seven suspects in Drushkhela area of Matta. Two militants surrendered in Bishbanr and Shahdhand.

Security forces, it added, found a huge cache of ammunition from a hollow tree at Sore Banda near Peochar. The ammunition included 2,100 rounds of 14.5mm, 35 boxes of AK-47 rounds, 72 rounds of 12.7mm, 620 rounds of Small Machine Gun, 505 rounds of 7mm rifle and 200 rounds of Light Machine Gun.Meanwhile, curfew was lifted from Shangla district and Khwazakhela area of Swat after 24 hours. It was imposed on Saturday morning during a security sweep in the area.
