The process of helping Internally-Displaced Persons (IDPs) from Swat and Malakand to return home from Sindh was discussed on Sunday during a meeting presided by Sindh Home Minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza.
As many as 28,451 IDPs have already been sent home via buses; the Pakistan Railways has been made to send the remaining affectees home via train.
A report, which was presented in a meeting, revealed that 16,037 families, comprising 129,424 individuals, were registered in Sindh by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
Dr Mirza expressed dissatisfaction over complaints that some non-IDPs received transport fare, etc, from the government by posing as IDPs. He directed officials to be vigilant and to assist only registered IDPs.
The home minister directed the senior member of the Board of Revenue (BoR) to devise a proper list of people who are not victims from Swat, but intend to move there.
