| AIBA approves BB boxing event |

KARACHI: International boxing governing body (AIBA) and the Asian Boxing Confederation (ASBC) have approved Shaheed Benazir Bhutto International Boxing tournament which Pakistan plans to hold it here at the Expo Centre from January 1 to 9.
"Yes, both AIBA and Asian boxing body have given their formal approval and the chiefs of both the bodies will come to watch the competitions for which fifty percent arrangements have been completed," the president of the Pakistan Boxing Federation (PBF) Doda Khan Bhutto told 'The News' from Islamabad on Tuesday.
He said around Rs50 million will be spent on the event, saying the Federal Sports Ministry and the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) will cooperate the PBF in holding of the competitions in befitting manner.
He said around 25 to 30 countries have been invited for the tournament and so far positive response from almost all the target countries has been received which is encouraging.
