| Navtec to train to Gilgit-Baltistan youth |

National Vocational & Technical Education Commission (Navtec), under the existing policy of the Government, will give priority to impart vocational training to the youth of Gilgit-Baltistan.
This was stated by the Navtec Chairman Adnan A. Khawaja while talking to Mike R. Gordon, Program Director of a community development organization “Shinning Light”, who called on him at his office here Monday. Navtec Chairman said that the objective of the Government was to bring the youth of Gilgit-Baltistan in mainstream by equipping them with necessary technical & vocational skills in useful trades to enable them to earn decent livelihood. He said, Navtec would provide all possible technical and financial assistance to all those training institutes which would help us in achieving the Government’s objective.
Mike Gordon informed the Chairman that his organization was committed to engaging and empowering the people of Gilgit through education, training and development services that are sustainable and affordable. He said, Shining Light was in operation in Gilgit since 2003 and now expanding its services in the surrounding villages. The chairman assured Mike Gordon that the Commission would give due consideration in utilising their services.
