| Altaf terms Shafiq Ahmed’s murder a national loss |

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned the murder of Balochistan minister and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Shafiq Ahmed Baloch and demanded of the government to immediately arrest the culprits and award them stern punishment.
In a statement issued from London, he said that Baloch’s murder was an act of terrorism and termed his death it a national loss.
He prayed to God to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and fortitude to the bereaved family to bear this tragic loss.
Meanwhile, Hussain expressed grief over the sudden demise of the wife of Waseem Akram, former captain of Pakistan cricket team. He prayed for the departed soul and sympathised with the bereaved family.
Akram’s wife died in India during treatment at a hospital.
APP adds: Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has strongly condemned the assassination of Balochistan Education Minister Shafiq Ahmed Khan.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Shah, who is also the provincial chief of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), said that Khan was an active leader of the PPP, and his contributions for the party would be long remembered.
Shah also sympathised with the family members of the deceased and prayed to God to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and fortitude to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
Sindh ministers Syed Murad Ali Shah, Syed Ali Mardan Shah, Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahr, Adviser to Chief Minister Rashid Hussain Rabbani and Special Assistant Waqar Mehdi also condemned the assassination of Shafiq Ahmed Khan.
