KARACHI: Misbah-ul-Haq, who was dropped from the Pakistan squad for its series against New Zealand the other day, on Friday smashed a career-best 284 to help Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) post 609 for six in their first innings against Lahore Shalimar in a Group A match of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy at the LCCA Ground in Lahore.

The former Pakistan vice-captain, who was not out on 153 when SNGPL closed the first day’s play on 385 for four, continued with his blistering form on the second day (Friday) as well to score his first-class career-best 284 before he was caught by Sohail Idrees off the bowling of Saad Nasim.
