| Courts urged to punish held militants |

NOWSHERA: NWFP Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain Tuesday said after the sacrifices of the security forces and police peace was restored in Malakand and it was now up to the court to punish the arrested militants.
This he expressed while laying the foundation stone of a government girls high school in Pabbi. He said several militant leaders who were arrested used to be openly claiming responsibility for the death and destruction inflicted on the innocent citizens.
He demanded of the judiciary to award exemplary punishment to the merchant of deaths now in the custody of law enforcement agencies. He urged the federal government to spend every penny received from the international donors on the well being of the NWFP people who were paying heavy price due to the scourge of militancy.
Students protest KBL: Opposing the controversial Kerry-Lugar Bill (KLB), dozens of activists of Muslim Students Federation-Quaid, Peshawar chapter, staged a protest demonstration outside the Press Club here Tuesday.
Led by MSF-Q Provincial Vice-President Abu Bakar Khalil and President ICP Muhammad Ijaz, the students were holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans against KLB. They also chanted slogans against the KLB and the US and Pakistan governments.
