| Tabish takes five as Customs stumble |

KARACHI: Pacer Tabish Khan took five wickets to help Karachi Whites get 128 runs first innings lead after they bowled Customs out for 106 on the second day of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy match here at the DHA Stadium.
While chasing Customs’ batters failed to read the tight bowling from Tabish, perishing for 106. Hafiz Asad Baig was the top scorer with 24.
Tabish finished with five for 51 while Ali Mudassir took three and Akbar Rehman captured two wickets.
At stumps, Karachi Whites had posted 137 for four in their second innings. Afsar Nawaz scored 41 while opener Naved Khan made 33.
Here at the National Stadium, Habib Bank got 92 runs first innings lead as they bowled KRL out for 130 due to splendid bowling from leg spinner Danish Kaneria who took four for 32. Umar Gul clinched three for 35. Saeed Anwar Junior hit 57 for KRL.
At close on Saturday, HBL had posted 195 for five with Taufique Umar batting on 90 with 12 fours while Umar Gul was at the crease on 41.
Muhammad Irfan took four for 41 for KRL.
SSGC were on the brink of conceding first innings lead as they had posted 127 for six at stumps in reply to PIA’s first innings total of 320 here at the UBL Ground No 1.
At the Abbottabad Cricket Stadium, Abbottabad were 211 for five in reply to Karachi Blues’ first innings total of 335.
ZTBL, who had staged 264 in their first innings, got 98 runs lead when they bundled Lahore Shalimar out for a mere 166 at the LCCA Ground in Lahore.
Lahore Ravi scored 328 in their first innings against Sialkot Region. At stumps, Sialkot had lost three wickets for 79.
Peshawar got six runs first innings lead against Quetta after they were dismissed for 213 in reply to the opponents’ first innings total of 207 at the National Cricket Ground in Islamabad.
Muhammad Idress hit fine 51. For Quetta, Nazar Hussain clinched four while Muhammad Aslam and Arun lal shared three wickets each.
At the Diamond Cricket Club Ground in Muridke, Rawalpindi, who had posted 531, forced Hyderabad to follow on after they were got out for a paltry 96.
