Turkish general meets Tariq, Ashfaq

Turkish Armed Forces Commander General Ilker Basbug called on Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Tariq Majid, at Joint Staff Headquarters, Chaklala, says an ISPR press release Tuesday.

During his visit the Turkish Armed Forces commander exchanged views on the regional security situation, matters related to enhancement of bilateral defence cooperation and other aspects of mutual interest.

Meanwhile, Turkish Armed Forces Commander General Ilker Basbug visited General Headquarters and called on Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani.

The visiting dignitary remained with him for some time and discussed matters of mutual interest. He was also given briefings on various professional issues. The visit signifies the unique and brotherly relations enjoyed by the people and armed forces of both the countries.

Earlier on arrival at General Headquarters, the Turkish Armed Forces commander laid wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada. A smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Army presented the Guard of Honour. During the daylong visit he also visited National Defence University.
