PESHAWAR: The Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) Fata Branch, with the support of National Headquarters (NHQ), Islamabad, and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Sub-delegation Peshawar, distributed seven truckloads of food and other relief goods worth Rs 4.5 million among the internally displaced persons (IDPs) of Bara Tehsil, Khyber Agency.
After organising a successful relief campaign for the IDPs of Malakand Division, now the PRCS, Fata branch, with the support of the NHQ and the ICRC has planned to support the IDPs of Bara and has started relief activities through distribution of food and non-food items.
Each package includes 50 kg wheat flour, 25 kg pulses, 20 kg rice, 15 kg ghee, 5 kg sugar, 1 kg tea, 1 kg salt, 5 hygiene soaps, 4 hygiene cloths and 1 detergent powder.
The total goods worth Rs 4.5 million were distributed among 350 families living with host families in Shah Kas, Qadam, Jabba, Tedi Bazar, Sur Kamar, Ghariza, Ghundi, Sakhi Pul, Pump House, Bakar Abad, Sikandarkhel and Malik Khwar villages in Jamrud tehsil, Khyber Agency.
