| Meat prices reduced by Rs15 per kg during Ramazan |

Meat-sellers of Islamabad have announced reduction of Rs15 in per kilogram price of beef and mutton to provide relief to people during the holy month of Ramazan, the spokesman for the deputy commissioner’s office said here on Monday.
He said that the announcement to this effect was made here on Monday during a meeting of Deputy Commissioner Amer Ali Ahmed with meat-sellers. It was decided in the meeting that the reduced prices of beef and mutton would be effective from the 1st of Ramazan.
According to the spokesman, mutton would be available for Rs325 per kilogram in all markets and at Rs300 per kilogram at ‘Sasta Bazaars’. Similarly, beef (without bone) would be available for Rs230 per kilogram in all markets and at Rs200 per kilogram at ‘Sasta Bazaars’. Beef (with bone) would be available for Rs165 per kilogram in all markets and at Rs150 per kilogram at ‘Sasta Bazaars’. He said that meat-sellers also announced that the quality of beef and mutton would be ensured in the holy month.
The deputy commissioner said that the quality of food items would be checked daily and those found selling substandard food items would be dealt with an iron hand. He appreciated the announcement made by meat-sellers regarding reduction in prices of beef and during Ramazan.
