 One dead in Hub blast

HUB: One person was killed and 16 people, including a policeman, sustained injuries when a bomb planted on a motorbike at the roadside exploded here on Friday.

Police officer Abdul Hameed Lasi said one of the bombs was rigged to a motorcycle. It exploded in a busy market in Hub, killing one man and wounding 15. They injured were rushed to a hospital, where the condition of four injured was stated to be serious. They were shifted to a hospital in Karachi.

The bomb also damaged two cars and a motorbike. The police have registered a case and started investigation. Another police official, Abdul Quddoos, said two more bombs ripped through a street in Mach town, 50 kilometres east of Quetta, wounding three.

Meanwhile, unidentified miscreants blew up three power pylons in Kohlu and Dera Allahyar Khan on Friday, causing suspension of power supply to several areas.The miscreants planted a bomb to the 132 KV power pylon in Kohlu that was detonated using a remote control.

In Dera Allahyar Khan, an explosives material was placed with two power pylons of 220 KV, which went off, damaging the pylon. Meanwhile, the Quetta Electric Supply Company (Qesco) said repair work of the damaged pylons would be carried out after security clearance.
