Share this story!     Strike observed in Thatta Saturday, July 25, 2009 By our correspondent THATTA: Complete strike was observed and the entire business activity was suspended here following the news of an armed attack on the motorcade of the Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) Chairman Bashir Khan Qureshi near the Safoora Chowrangi in Karachi on Friday. While Qureshi miraculously survived, his comrade JSQM Thatta President Mushtaque Khaskheli was killed and three others were injured. The deceased and injured were shifted to the Jinnah Hospital, Karachi. As per reports, the firing was started by four motorcyclists at the vehicle of Qureshi. The bodyguards of Qureshi returned the murderous fire, killing two attackers and injuring two others. Large number of local leaders and workers came out on the roads and staged demonstrations to protest the incident. Police have started patrolling on the roads and posted pickets at sensitive points to avert any eventuality.
