HYDERABAD: Transporters in interior Sindh have extended their support to Tuesday’s strike call against the increase in petroleum prices.
The decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of the Sindh Bus Owners Association, which was attended by transporters of Karachi, Thatta, Hyderabad, Jacobabad, Larkana, Nawabshah, Dadu, Sukkur, Badin and Tharparkar.
The meeting discussed the increase in petroleum prices and said instead of providing relief the burden of higher prices has been shifted to the public. Participants of the meeting, according to a press release, expressed their concern over the presidential ordinance, saying this would directly affect the common man.
Therefore, they said it was difficult to continue the transport business and the strike call of July 14 given by the Karachi Transport Ittehad would be followed and a complete strike would be observed on Tuesday. |
