| Aamir thrash Shah to clinch boxing gold |

KARACHI: Aamir Khan from Sindh emerged as light welterweight champion after he defeated Shah Muhammad from Balochistan Greens in the final of the NBP All-Pakistan Boxing Championship held at the Yazdan Khan Model High School in Quetta on Sunday.
As per details available to ‘The News’, it was a one-sided fight and Aamir Khan had tight grip on the bout right from the first round. He showed great guts and his footwork and punches were a treat to watch. He won the bout 30-13. In the 48kg final Asif Raza from Navy beat Shoaib Murad from Pakistan Rangers to claim gold.
Similarly, in the 51kg Muhammad Amin from Balochistan Greens beat Aamir Khan from Navy to clinch gold. In the 54kg event, Samiullah from Navy got gold medal after he overpowered Aneel Hussain from KESC while in the 57kg final Sheraz from Navy got the gold when he beat Noushad Fateh from KPT by 12-10. In the 60kg category, Zahid Hussain from KPT overpowered Abdul Rauf from KESC by 17-14 to clinch gold.
