Shahrukh Khan exposes Indian secularism

- January 26, 2013 - Updated 130 PKT - From Web Edition

Mumbai: Bollywood king Shahrukh Khan has exposed so-called secular face of world largest democracy: India, expressing his agony he is facing for being born as a Muslim.

SRK wrote an article titled Being a Khan for Outlook Turning Points magazine.

Khan said in the article many politicians asked him to go back to his native homeland: Pakistan, after 9/11 incident.

“I sometimes become the inadvertent object of political leaders who choose to make me a symbol of all that they think is wrong and unpatriotic about Muslims in India".

"There have been occasions when I have been accused of bearing allegiance to our neighboring nation (Pakistan) rather than my own country – this even though I am an Indian, whose father fought for the freedom of India. Rallies have been held where leaders have exhorted me to leave and return what they refer to my ‘original’ homeland.”

“I gave my son and daughter names that could pass for generic (pan-India and pan-religious) ones – Aryan and Suhana,”Shahrukh Khan said.

“The Khan has been bequeathed by me so they can’t really escape it.

Khan said that he pronounced names of his children with his epiglottis when asked by Muslims and throw the Aryan as evidence of their race when non-Muslims enquired. "I imagine this will prevent my offspring from receiving unwarranted eviction orders or random fatwas in the future,” said Khan.

Khan said that he was pressed to make the film My Name is Khan to prove a point after being repeatedly detained in US airports because of his last name.

He said he was grilled at the airport for hours about his last name when he was going to promote the film in America for the first time.

SRK ! remember whatever changes in name and culture u make to ur children, the existing politicians will never embrace u until u embrace similarity to them and please them in all respects. So, trust, have faith and stick to the reality and true path.

Indians will not miss him if he decides to leave. But money talks.

''He said he was grilled at the airport for hours about his last name when he was going to promote the film in America for the first time.'' Not true. He had some connections with someone in USA who was of a dubious character.

ITs not democracy its brhamanocracy in India !! Remember Gujrat and Babri Mosque massacare and Golden Temple.

contd....India is an exclusive country that promotes concepts like secularism, democracy, etc like no other country in the developing world does. Can Shah Rukh Khan say this loud and clear? Otherwise he should take up Hafeez Saed's offer to relocate to Pakistani which will lead to a certain divorce from his wife as Pakistan and Hafeez types do not accept women equality.

SRK has about 10-15% derangement. Poor guy! He needs to be in news and wants to convey that he is a victim of 2 conflicting cultures. He earns for sympathy of his fans, it seems! Instead of seeing his superstardom as an opportunity to say the right things and promote the virtues of tolerance and secularism, he is pandering to those controversies that will create news. contd.

If India is NOT a secular country, then why are the Muslims still living there? Why don't they go and live in a Islamic republic of Pakistan? Nobody is forcing them to live in India.

Dear Pakistani brothers and sisters, jealousy will not get you anywhere. What a bigoted headline. Expose Indian secularism? For god sake people wake up from your cocoons. India has many superstar khans, had a muslim president and many many many more muslims in every walk of like. What does Pakistan have to flaunt? SRK is an idiot and an attention seeker.
