ISLAMABAD: Indian troops, in their unabated acts of state-terrorism, martyred 17 Kashmiris, including children, during the month of December last , 2012.
According to the data compiled by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service, 41 persons were subjected to severe torture and 41 civilians arrested while Indian paramilitary forces destroyed 7 residential houses and disgraced two women during the period, Kashmir Media Service reported.
On the other hand, during the year 2012, Indian troops killed 118 innocent Kashmiris including 5 women and 7 children.
According to the data, 7 of those martyred were killed in custody.
Indian paramilitary troopers and policemen during the house raids, crackdowns, firing and teargas shelling tortured or critically injured 868 civilians and destroyed 40 residential houses/structures while 715 persons were arrested during the year.
Seven Kashmiris went missing in custody, and 23 women were disgraced or molested by the men in uniform during the period.
Meanwhile, since 1989 till December 31, 2012, Indian troops martyred 93,831 innocent Kashmiris, including 6,996 killed in fake encounters or incustody. (APP)
