Polio campaign supervisor, driver killed

CHARSADDA: A supervisor of the anti-polio campaign and her driver were killed by unknown gunmen here on Wednesday.

 

The supervisor’s vehicle was attacked in the Shabqadar area of Charsadda during the anti-polio drive.

 

The attack on the supervisor was the fifth attack on workers of the anti-polio campaign in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday.

 

Earlier a volunteer was shot in Peshawar and was rushed to the Lady Reading Hospital.

 

Volunteers were also attacked in three separate incidents in Charsadda and one in Nowshera.

 

On Tuesday, four female workers were killed in Karachi while a 14 year old worker was killed in Peshawar.

The government should quit or provide security to the workers. This is getting serious now. if the anti-polio drive is stopped in Pakisan, it will have serious consequences.
