NEW YORK: A man believed to be in his 20s was in critical condition in New York on Friday after he fell or jumped into the tiger enclosure at the Bronx Zoo and was savagely attacked, firefighters said.
A spokesman for the New York Fire Department (FDNY) said it was not yet clear how the man ended up in the tigers' habitat.
"The male was critically injured interacting with the tigers," Frank Dwyer said.
"I don't know if he was bit or struck, but he has some very bad wounds to his back or torso, and a severe injury in his leg."
The spokesman said the man, in "critical condition," was transported by FDNY to Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx borough of New York City. (AFP)
