ISLAMABAD: Over 40 policemen including an SHO and five protesters were injured as an anti-Islam film protest turned violent near the diplomatic enclave in Islamabad.

Demonstrators’ part of the anti-Islam film protest clashed with police when they were stopped from entering the red zone and proceeding towards the diplomatic enclave in Islamabad.

Protesters burnt police and Rangers check posts, damaged several vehicles and public property, while the police used tear gas shelling to control the situation.

After the shelling proved to be ineffective, the army was summoned to stop the protesters from entering the red zone and a heavy contingent of police, Rangers and FC were deployed outside the diplomatic enclave.

The diplomatic enclave in Islamabad is home to most Western Embassies including the US, French and British Embassies.

@ Yasar Hussain Shah. Did you use your own words or are you quoting Holy Quran? You changed the second sentence starting with, "Whoever..." Here is the correct translation of Surah 5, Verse 51: "O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: they are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust." (51) [translation: Yusuf Ali]

SURAH AL-MA’IDAH O believers! Take neither Jews nor Christians as your protecting friends: they are only protecting friends of one another. Whoever of you disobeys this commandment will be counted as one of them. Surely Allah does not guide the wrongdoers.[51]

It is quite shameful only redzone area is consider tobe heart of pakistan to safe...why karachi and rest of Pakistan can't be secure like mention...Why government spread bullets on its own nation...why they don't demanded to ban on film unless we have no reason to stop angers... Though diplomatic relations should be secure but with superiority of on which we belief...Allah and His Prophet (p.b.u.h)

Such hooliganism and anarchy on the streets is only encouraged when the government decides to give a day off for such a foolish reason.
