ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira said that it was a responsibility of the government to protect foreign diplomats "at all costs".

Speaking to Geo News, Kaira said the Punjab government should have ensured that the protesters who came from Rawalpindi and Murree were stopped from entering Islamabad.

The information minister appealed to protesters to remain peaceful. He also urged political and religious parties to refrain from fuelling hate and destroying the country.

Kaira further said that Pakistan was the only Muslim country who had declared Ishq-e-Rasool (PBUH) day on Friday to protest against the anti-Islam film.

Here in a America, lots of us are offended by this film as well. Even though I am a Christian, I respect Muslims and wish you peace.
