ISLAMABAD: The Government has issued an official notification, announcing Friday a Public Holiday in lieu of Yaum-e-Ishq-e-Rasool (Day of Reverence for the Holy Prophet PBUH), Geo News reported.

Petrol Pumps and CNG Stations will remain closed across the country. Transporters have announced, there will be no public transport plying the streets on Friday while traders will not open their businesses on the day.

Following the wide spread protests against the anti-Islam film that has hurt and angered Muslims all over the world – the Prime Minister announced during the federal cabinet meeting on Wednesday to observe Friday as a day of reverence, to show respect to the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and to make their voice heard.
