Flood relief package announced for Sindh

KARACHI: Prime Minister, Raja Pervez Ashraf, Sunday announced a relief package worth Rs2 billion rupees for the rain/flood affectees of Sindh, Geo News reported.

The Prime Minister who visited rain and flood hit areas issued orders for the release Rs710 million without dealy.

The concerned authorities were also directed to procure 25,000 tents so that victims who lost their homes to rain could be sheltered.

 

Kashmore and Jacobabad would get Rs200 million each‚ whereas Sukkur and Mirpur Rs100 million each and Ghotki Rs70 million.

 

The PM also directed the concerned authorities to leave no victim unassisted when disbursing the funds.

 

PM Ashraf also announced equal relief packages for South Punjab and Balochistan.

 

He acclaimed the army and provincial government for their relief efforts.

 

Earlier The Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf took an aerial view of rain/flood-hit areas in Jacobabad.

 

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and some Ministers also accompanied the PM.

 

Also, officials in a briefing apprised the PM about the flood losses in Sindh in general and Jacobabd, the worst hit city, in particular.

Mr Asfand Yar Wali please allow Pakistan to build KalaBagh Dam. Had there been KBD this much water was sufficient for 2 years of Pakistan agriculture needs plus additional supply of electricity.
