LAHORE: Massive traffic jams were witnessed in almost all parts of the city on Thursday due to ongoing construction work on Mass Transit Bus Project and protest demonstration by Young Doctors Association in front of Services Hospital.

Traffic remained clogged at Canal road, F.C underpass, Jail road, Lower Mall, Mall Road, Mcload Road and almost at all the underpasses of the Canal Road for hours causing immense problems for citizens who had to use alternative routes.

A number of persons talking to APP at jail road said, "We are stuck up in the traffic mess for hours with families in the humid weather and do not know when we will reach Canal underpass from Shadman signal."

The situation was not different at Shah Alam Chowk, Mcleod Road, Mall Road, Lower Mall, Lawrence Road and some other link roads where vehicles were moving at snail's pace.

People from all walks of life have demanded the provincial government to take notice of the situation and take effective steps to ensure smooth flow of traffic.
