MULTAN: The rain, which fell continously for five hours, terrorized the citizens here on Sunday.

Massive cloudburst overwhelmed the city and its suburbs forceing locals to stay at homes especially those living in low lying areas.

Hundreds of houses were inundated which compelled residents to drain the rainwater.

The rainwater also caused traffic mess in various areas, including Hussain Agahi, Arts Council, Tariq Road, Lodhi Colony Road, Nawan Shehr chowk, general bus stand under-pass, Chowk Kachehri, Dera Adda , Aziz Hotel and others.

The heavy rain demolished walls and roofs of several houses causing injuries to people.

According to local Met office, 148 mm rain was recorded from September 6 to 9. However, it remained 45 mm on Sunday. (APP)
