TIMERGARA: Several students hailing from different parts of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa who are studying in Tianjin Chongjin University, China, under the Chief Minister's Chinese Language Scholarship Programme have been facing hardships as they were being denied stipend amount for the last two months.

The students told the Lower Dir journalists from China by telephone on Wednesday that they had been facing financial crisis as they were not being paid their stipend. They said that several students from various parts of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were facing severe financial crisis in China.

The students were selected for the Chief Minister's Chinese Language Scholarship Programme and are currently studying in Tianjin Chongjin University, China. They said the scholarship was financed by KP government and each student was supposed to receive a monthly stipend of 1200 yuan.

They said that despite the passage of two months the students were yet to receive their monthly stipend and health insurance amount. They said the students were distressed and faced financial constraints. "We have contacted the Frontier Education Foundation (FEF) times and again but all in vain," said one of the students.

The students said the stubborn and impetuous attitude of the government authorities had dismayed their families in Pakistan. They said they could no more wait as they needed money for their recurring expenditure. The students have threatened to record a protest in Pakistani embassy in Beijing if their problem was not resolved within a week.
