ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik submitted the report pertaining to the Rimsha Masih case in the Senate on Friday.

According to the report, the ashes found in the bag were not from paper but from wood.

Speaking on the floor of the Senate, Malik said that police had taken Rimsha into their custody to protect her from enraged people.

Malik added that according to Rimsha’s medical report she was 14 years old but had the mental capability of a seven year old.

Earlier the Islamabad District Court granted bail to Rimsha Masih who has been accused of blasphemy.

Her case took a drastic turn when witnesses came forward and alleged that the Imam (prayer leader) of the mosque had tampered with evidence.

The Question is: Will the Imam be prosecuted or not? He is responsible for torturing the innocent girl as well as maligning Pakistan at the international level.

What a shame. This poor girl should not have been behind bars at all. Let's see how quickly the culprit in this case is prosecuted and punished.
