Zardari, Singh meet at NAM summit

TEHRAN: President Asif Ali Zardari met Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on the sidelines of the NAM summit underway here.

 

The two leaders discussed bilateral relations and the situation in the region during their meeting.

 

President Zardari and Indian PM Singh also agreed to take concrete steps to improve relations between the two countries.

 

After the meeting, President Zardari said there was progress in talks with the Indian Prime Minister but added that 'a lot of distance still remains to be covered'.

 

He reiterated Pakistan's commitment to the advancement of dialogue process with the neighboring India.

 

The President said he looked forward to the Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's sooner-than-latter visit to Pakistan.

 

Interior Minister Rehman Malik, Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar and PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto accompanied the president during the meeting.
