According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian paramilitary forces fired teargas shells and used brute force to disperse protestors in Srinagar and Sopore after youth tried to march through the roads in the areas.

The protests and clashes between protestors and paramilitary forces continued till last reports came in. Meanwhile, authorities placed APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and other Hurriyet leaders including Mohammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Mohammad Ashraf Sehria, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Zaffar Akbar Butt and other leaders under house arrest, today, on Eid-ul-Fitr.

Huge contingent of police and paramilitary CRPF troopers cordoned off their houses and informed them that they could not move out.
