Peshawar Zonal Ruet member dissents

PESHAWAR: Zonal Ruet Hilal Committee member, Maulana Irshad Hussain Khalili, dissenting with the decision celebrating Eid Sunday, said that trustworthy evidences were not received in the meeting of the committee.

 

Talking to Geo News Zonal Hilal Committee member, Maulana Irshad Hussain said that reliable evidences were not received in the meeting and all the evidences were received on telephone.

 

Maulana Irshad Hussain Khalili further said that the District Khateebs of the areas from where the evidences received didn’t review them. He said that the Zonal Committee meeting initially decided not to celebrate Eid on Sunday. However later on, some members of the committee recommended the provincial government to give official credence to celebrating Eid Sunday.

 

Maulana Irshad Khalili said that one more member Zonal Ruet committee Maulana Abu Bakar also differed with the decision of observing Eid Sunday.

Basically our country is now becoming the land of talibans, esp PK where people believe on illiterate mulas;they think that their fatawa is superior than science, quran or other facts. I think celebrating eid with whole nation shows unity. These mulas along with terrorists are working to destabilize the country. Highly qualified persons should be appointed by govt in mosques as imam masjid.

In this time and age, it is easy to determine the poition of moon and sun. When you have a moonset after sunset, you can start a new lunar month. It is that simple. The word "Roya" does not mean sighting with naked eye. This has been explained by learned scolars like Dr Tahir-ul-Kadri, Dr. Muzammal Siddiqi and Zulfiqar Ali Shah who has written a book on this subject. Our "ulemas" should not only depend upon traditional knowledge but use advancements in science and astronomy.

Hmm, this says it all. I and a lot of others don't understand how it is possible to see moon when it is not there to be seen. As per Quran Allah has fixed the precise timing of Sun and Moon's movement. In this day and age this can be accurately measured. Relying on any evidence is not possible when in a population of Millions only a few from a specific area consistently see moon. The question is actually not of wajib Eid namaz but one Fardh fast of Ramadan which is priceless.
