KARACHI: Shawwal moon has not been sighted, thus Eid-ul-Fitr will fall on Monday, August 20, Geo News reported.

Chairman Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, Mufti Muneeb, while talking to reporters in a press conference held here, said that due to the lack of evidence regarding the sighting the new (Shawwal) moon this evening Eid-ul-Fitr would be on Monday.

“Sunday (19th August 2012) will be the 30th day of Ramadan 1433 H and Monday (20th August 2012) will be the first day of Shawaal, as well as Eid-ul-Fitr”, Mufti Muneeb announced.

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee met on Saturday under the chair of Mufti Muneeb Ur Rehman at Metrological Department office University Road in Karachi to give a verdict in accordance with “Shariah” on the sighting of Shawal 1433 Hijri moon.

Members of Central and Zonal Ruet -e- Hilal committee and Metrological Department experts at Chorangi attended the meeting.

The meetings of Zonal Ruet-e- Hilal committees were also held in their respective head quarters.

I think this committee lives in another galaxy!!!!! There is only ONE moon and there is only ONE earth!!!!! Why can't we start Ramadhan at one time and end at one time all over the world???? And have Eid on one day!!!!! Give it a thought it is possible. Pakistan is only 2 hours difference from Saudi Arabia, just follow Saudi Arabia and the rest of the world!!!!
