ISLAMABAD: The government has filed a review petition in the Supreme Court against the judgement striking down the Contempt of Court Act, 2012.

A decision to file the review petition was made after President Asif Ali Zardari met with coalition partners and Law Minister Farooq Naek last Sunday.

On August 3, the Supreme Court had declared the Contempt of Court Act 2012, unconstitutional and null and void.

The act was signed into law by President Asif Ali Zardari on July 12 after it was adopted by a majority vote in both houses of Parliament.

According to the federations lawyer Shakoor Paracha the review petition challenges several points of the court’s verdict.

DARMIYANI RASTA : If Zardari so wish, ‘SAANP BHI MARJAEY, LATHI BHI NA TOOTAY’. The ‘Solution’ to end clash between Govt & Judiciary is very easy. If Zardari broad mindedly, say “Forget about the Letter to Swiss Govt”, I’ll pay Rs.6.0 BN from my own pocket to Govt Treasury, the problem stands solved. And/or, if Allies, Altaf Hussain, Asfandyar Wali, Chaudhrys come forward & generously pay Rs.6.0 BN to Govt Treasury from their Accounts, problem also stands solved by this ‘Darmiyani Rasta’.

Gilani sacrified him self for Zardari. One or both are stupids. It is time for Zardari to show his sympathy for Gilani and should quit the power.
