Shopkeepers fined for overcharging

HYDERABAD: The Revenue Officers, having judicial powers, have imposed fine of Rs. 23700/- upon 36 shopkeepers for overcharging.

 

The Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Agha Shahnawaz Babar, Additional Deputy Commissioner-I Aijazul Hassan, Additional Deputy Commissioner-II Abid Saleem, Assistant Commissioners Taluka Hyderabad City, Latifabad, Qasimabad and Hyderabad Rural paid surprise visits at different markets in their areas and found many shopkeepers either charging high prices or not displaying rate list in front of their shops and took action against them.

 

They imposed fine of Rs. 10700/- upon six shopkeepers in Taluka Hyderabad City, Rs.2000/- upon eight shopkeepers of Latifabad, Rs.10500/- upon six shopkeepers of Qasimabad and Rs.500/- upon two shopkeepers of Hyderabad Rural on charge of charging high prices / not placing rate list on their shops.
