QUETTA: The doctors of Quetta hospitals ended their strike and resumed duties at the out patient departments (OPDs) of Civil and Bolan Medical Hospitals after the kidnapped surgeon Dr Din Muhammad Bangulzai was recovered, Geo News reported Tuesday.
Senior surgeon Dr Din Muhammad Bangulzai who was kidnapped eight days ago reached home safely in Mastung district on Monday evening.
Dr Bangulzai was abducted by unknown assailants from the Ganji Dori near Lak Pass in district Mastung on Sunday while on his way while the kidnappers demanded Rs 8 million from the family who refused to pay the ransom amount.
On the call of Pakistan Medical Association, doctors had boycotted the OPDs of all main hospitals of the provincial capital, including Helper’s Hospital, Bolan Medical College Teaching Hospital, Fatima Jinnah TB Sanatorium and Sandeman Hospital since July 27.
The strike in government and private hospitals caused great inconvenience to the poor patients who came from far-flung areas but were relieved today after the doctors resumed their duties and ended strike.
