FAISALABAD: The police have claimed to kill a notorious proclaimed offender (PO) while his two accomplices managed to escape from the scene after an encounter in the limits of police station Chak Jhumra.

 

According to a police spokesman, SHO Chak Jhumra Rana Mazhar-ul-Haq signaled a motorcycle carrying three suspects near at police picket at Chiniot-Jhumra Road, but the motorcyclists allegedly opened indiscriminate firing at the police party and managed to escape from the scene.

 

The police chased the outlaws and directed them for surrender but they continued firing at police.

 

However, in return of firing, one criminal fell down on the ground while his accomplices managed to flee away from the scene under the cover of darkness.

 

The police took the dead body of the killed outlaw into custody and he was identified as Kashif alias Kashi of Chak No.103-RB Phalahi through a CNIC which was recovered from his pocket.
